About

~ everything is acceptable ~ is a self-indulgent project, a drawing practice, if you will, as an exercise in acceptance.  It was born out of the desire to stick two fingers up at anyone and everyone who's ever said (to me or anybody who's ever wanted to do anything creative), "No, you're doing it wrong" or even worse, "You're just not good enough."

Here there is no wrong.  Everything is good enough.

The 'rules' are simple:

- Start with a circle.
- Draw anything inside it - anything goes, everything is acceptable.  If you're interested in giving it a go but don't think you can draw, you don't have to think of it as drawing.  Start with a line, a mark, a shape, a colour, and see where it takes you.
- There are no mistakes.

My aim is to draw every day for a year, but if I don't, that's not wrong either.

~

If you do decide to give this a go and will be blogging about it, please leave me a link to your blog in the comments below and I'll add it to my blogroll and come see what you're doing :-)

  1. exciting project! Have you thought about adding 'google friend connect' to your sidebar so that other bloggers can follow you so that they can easily find their way back?

  2. Thanks Laura, as soon as I figure out how, I'll do so.

  3. Hurrah for you! I'm admiring and jealous. I've started drawing so many times. Have never been quite bold enough to make a commitment like this. Small Stones writing is doable. This is scarier. But I'm thinking... Thanks for the inspiration, and I wish you a wonderful year of artful exploration!

  4. I absolutely LOVE this! I love the way your circles have turned out so far. I am going to start. I'm a writer, and a doodler/drawer, and I never make time to draw because I usually don't know where to start. Now I do! Thanks so much for the inspiration.
